Decisions, decisions

I've been thinking about my schedule for Spring '05 quarter.

Even though my window doesn't open for about another month to schedule, I'm probably going to have to go with CSE 221, Math 152, English 110, and Trap Shooting. It'll be fun, especially trap shooting if there's still seats open because I'm a natural born shot and to prove it, first time I ever shot a shotgun in my life AND shot trap (yeah, I did both at the same time for the first time lol) I shot 9 out of 10 targets. The second time I ever shot I did 23 out of 25 including one target that I shot so quick out of the catapult that it literally disintegrated in mid-air and no fragments of it were visible to the naked eye... so you be the judge.

Saturday was a blast

So yesterday (and today?) Eric, Dan, Justin, and I went to the City Center downtown, which is basically a decent-sized mall with 3 levels. While there, Dan and I got a 48" blacklight and a neon light that says "Live Nudes" that so proudly shows out our top story window. We plan on going back to get another blacklight and another neon light of the silhouette of a naked chick :)

Later that night when we got back from Burritos Noches, we all were outside and noticed how abso-fucking-lutely awesome the snow was outside. Perfect snowball snow. We started chucking snowballs at our window and the Halo guys' window who live down the hall, which was priceless when Steve opened the window and we were all laughing. The next thing we did was go over to the hockey rink down the street and rolled one of the biggest flippin' snowballs you'll ever see. Took us about an hour to an hour and a half to roll it completely. That thing probably isn't melting for several months (or until the pissed off hockey players blow it up or something). It was priceless and not to mention I got plenty of pictures of it so that'll never go away. Once we finished that, we wanted to go scope out the south oval to see if anyone outdid us and needless to say they did. We worked on it for a while with hopes to destroy it, but it was just too solid and tightly compact. So instead Dan pissed on it and engraved the words "FUCK SOUTH" in it.

We left the oval and decided to grab a bite to eat at Steak & Shake. I just had a chocolate shake and it was delectable. We then crossed to the other side of the street to avoid the bums and Dan and I managed to step into Lake OSU when coming off the curb...jesus h. christ our feet were soaked.

On a side note, Eric rented Some Kind of Monster and The Punisher video game. The documentary was pretty good, but I personally wanted some more of the older Metallica in there to be a sort of biography of their entire career and not just the few years it took to compose St. Anger. The Punisher is by far one of the goriest video games ever. It was on par with Postal 2, but because it was the Punisher, he made things look so much more badass.

Needless to say this was one of the funnest nights I've had in a while and we haven't had a snow like this in forever. I love it.

Also, I decided to whore out the "New" picture on my sidebar that'll help people notice anything new I add for about a week or so.

Update on the Reds!

A few days ago the Reds ended up getting Rich Aurilia to fill for shortstop, which is great news. We also got Joe Randa for a solid third base. Outfield lined with Freel, Pena, Dunn, Kearns, and Griffey. Infield with Randa, Aurilia, Casey, Freel, Jimenez, and LaRue. Pitchers include Paul Wilson, David Weathers, Aaron Harang, Kent Mercker, Danny Graves, Ben Weber, and Jose Acevedo. Now depending on how well the pitching can hold up this year (a lot of pitchers I haven't really seen pitch before are on the Red's), I want to think that the Red's are at least in the region to be Wildcard contenders and depending on where the Astros, Cards, and Cubs stand this year with loss/gain of valuable players.

I could only hope the Red's have a good year this year.

You shouldn't play with knives...

...but I like knives. The other day I took it upon myself to order a Balisong (Filipino for "Butterfly Knife"). I bought it for only $13 off of www.gungfu.com and I've always wanted one, but was just one of those things that just slipped my mind until I rewatched The Punisher. The first time I wanted one, I was like 13 and was at Trader's World. I saw some guy playing with it, he put it on the glass case, I went to pick it up and the cashier said I can't touch it if I'm not 18. Here's a couple pictures of it opened and closed. I can open and close it all flashy, but I haven't stepped up to the tricks yet because I don't really have anything to watch so I can practice. So finally, I have my butterfly knife.

On a side note, I beat KOTOR finally. I guess you could say I went the route of the light side, but I was pretty even when gaining both dark and lightside xp. I bought KOTOR 2 and I'm not even off the first main planet, Telos, and my character is halfway to being evil as hell. I kill random people when I can, demand payments, make threats...it's great. Can't wait to get through the rest of this game.

As for school, doing kinda shitty in math. Physics is pretty cake, but I swear I can't pass Quiz 2 if my life depended on it. My engineering class is coming along quite nicely. The Autodesk Inventor program we use is pretty sweet for me being someone who's never done anything like AutoCAD before or whatever. Our bridge is nearly finished and I'm pretty sure the structure looks pretty sound and will hold at least 50 pounds. That's what I'm hoping for. As for German, I'm not sure how this'll turn out because our only grades are two quizzes, a mid term, and a final based off the books we read and I think the movies we see in class. It's the class about the holocaust...nothing about speaking German.

Until next time, auf weidersehn.

Lucky there's a Family Guy!

Dan and I went to see Seth MacFarlane in person at the Ohio Union and to be honest, I wasn't quite sure what to expect going into it. Stand-up? Q&A? Random impressions for an hour? I had no idea.

Naturally, there was quite a crowd in the Union ballroom and Dan and I wanted to assume that roughly 75% of that crowd had no idea who Seth was. It turned out being a big Q&A session with Seth and the crowd. We got to see act 1 of the first episode of the upcoming new season and it was just unbelieveably funny. He also talked about his other show American Dad that's coming out too. Seth himself was funny. Nothing much to really type about other than that because it was more of a "you had to be there" thing.

On a side note, Seth signed both of my Family Guy DVD cases AND got a picture with Dan and me!!!

It's been a week at the grindhouse...

...and boy what a week it's been.

About my classes, they've been swell. Math 151 (Calculus) has started off a little too easy with basically the same exact thing Math 150 started off with and that's "What is a function?". I thought to myself is this a joke or what the hell's going on here? It's some kind of math conspiracy up here at Columbus. Engineering 181 is the one class that all engineering majors NEED. It's the general basis of what "engineering" is... making graphs, isometric drawings, and other stuff like that. My German 399 class (has absolutely nothing to do with speaking the language, rather it's a course that is about the holocaust in literature and film i.e. Schindler's List). Only 2 2-hour classes a week for this baby, but still a 5 credit hour course. A lot of reading on our part, but I guess I'll learn to live with it. At least it'll be about something that sparks my interest a little more than a book about "a woman's struggle, which through tone and themes can figure out her own damn life and God this is fucked up". I have Conway to thank for that. Lastly is my Physics 109 class, which is an intro to physics that I smartly skipped out on in high school...die Patterson. It's a satisfactory/unsatisfactory course that has a professor who is very enthusiastic about physics. Even more so than I would say about Wilburn with chemistry or Kuzma with math. Easy class though.

The highlight of my week had to be the walk over to the medical center on West campus. It was raining like crazy over here and so I decided to take the bus most of the way there and walk the rest of the way. Since it's been a little while since I've been there and combined with my little mess up when looking at the bus route map, I actually walked the wrong way on Kenny Rd. for roughly 45 minutes to an hour. I figured out I was going the wrong way when I finally saw an address number that was around 3660 and the place I needed to go to was 2050. So I called up my dad saying I was confused as hell, he turns around and calls police, they call me up and tell me where I need to go. By this time, I'm a mile from civilization, an hour late for my scheduled appointment, and wet to the point where it's as if I fell in a fucking lake. I decide to call back the police and have one of their patrols come pick me up. I got to ride in the back of a police cruiser for the first time ever and wow it's uncomfortable as hell. No leg room, rock hard plastic seats, funky seatbelts, and can hardly hear people from the front seat. Anyways, I finally made it to the med center, but my engineering class starts in roughly a half hour. I get there and tell the doc what's up and he sends me out with a paper to get my foot x-rayed whenever I get around to it. After a long shuttle back to campus, I'm a half hour late for my engineering class, but thankfully nobody cares. I walked around pretty much the rest of the day soaked and cold as fuck. Not a good day to be me.

Friday night Dan, Justin, Jenny, and I went to COSI downtown. Wasn't as great as I remember the other COSI in Akron being, but still had its moments. The food they provided was crap so I decided to take it upon myself and treat myself to some Dippin' Dots. Mmm mmm finger-lickin' good. I also bought these strawberry cigars and they really do smell pretty damn good haha. Gotta try the chocolates and vanillas sometime.

Later tonight I have a ticket to go see Seth McFarlane at the Ohio Union. Yes, the same Seth McFarlane who created Family Guy. That'll be something I'm definitely not going to miss since I was one of the first people I know who got into family guy. I'm taking my Family Guy DVDs with hopes of him doing autographs hehe. I'll let you know how it goes.

I've been doing some thinking about G and how a while ago before she left for Hawaii, I approached her about if it were ever a possibility of her and I ever getting together. I guess you could say she gave me the "let's just be friends" spiel bullshit, but if I'm not her type, I'm not her type. If she wants her badass badboy image as a boyfriend, then by all means she can have em. Both times they haven't worked out in her favor and have ended with extreme heartbreak, but there's nothing I can do about that except for being there for her because she deserves better than that...dammit. I've come to terms with myself that I'm one of the few people in the world who could probably live their life alone if need be. You know what they say about it's better to have love and lost than to have never loved at all...so far for me it's been the second part all my life. I've approached her on my feelings about her, but for her to ever return those kind of feelings back to me is her choice alone. Can I still be friends with her? Sure. I'm not one to argue about it. I'm able to take the "let's just be friends" like a fuckin' man. Just because it seems to be that way at this point in time doesn't mean I'm going to slam the door closed. It'll always be open for her. It's hard to describe the entire situation, but to be quite honest, I feel almost like Peter Parker (minus the web-slinging abilities)...more specificially, the Spiderman movies with Tobey. The thing between Peter and MJ and MJ always being just out of Peter's grasp with all those other guys...yeah that's almost how I feel.

Anyways, off of that point I think that this quarter should be better than last because believe it or not, I'm wearing two shoes now o_O. My foot feels 100% and my stomach virus is gone. The only problem right now is I just ran outta my allergy medicine meaning I'm probably going to breaking out with these weird welts/rashes again now. Oh well, nothing I can do about that until I see the doc or dermatologist. Speaking of the dermatologist, I'm hopefully going to see him to talk about this problem and my stretch marks I have on my stomach. I'm not even all that fat, but I have them big time (because apparently it's genetic from my dad's side that we have not very stretchable skin). I see people with stomachs four times the size of mine and no marks whatsoever, but apparently with some kind of cream or whatever, it'll help clear it up. Not to mention, getting into my workout regiment again with 100% healed foot will help as well. Guess I'll have to wait and see. Not to mention, food here is infinity billion times healthier anyways.

On a side note, suprnova.org closed down :( BUT there's another site Dan found called torretspy.com that's almost as good.

In the meantime, over and out. *chhhk*

000000010000000100000101

Well since I'm up and I feel like doing something right now, I figure I should make the post concerning New Years. I was all sick and shit since Friday night and incapable of making the post.

I'm in the same boat as Eric and Ryan about New Years celebrations. I don't think I've ever "celebrated" the New Years. I've watched the ball drop, and that's about the only thing I've ever done. It isn't exactly one of my life goals to be in Times Square when the clock strikes midnight on the east coast. Sure I spent New Years Eve over at Gianna's, but that's simply because she invited me. Let me just call it an overnight that coincidently was at the same time as New Years hurf.

1. What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
Yeah I'd have to say college...

2. Did you keep your new year’s resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Just as Ryan and Eric, I see resolutions are what can have a strong influence on the weak-minded.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.

4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.

5. What countries did you visit?
Teh USA...

6. What would you like to have in 2005 that you lacked in 2004?
A year of school where I'm not fucking addicted to a game like Medal of Honor or Star Wars Galaxies.

7. What dates from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
September 21st (last people outta Amelia lol) December 9 (I never forgot a birthday :P)

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Surviving college, grade-wise. But as for the foot...yeesh.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Letting video games intrude upon friendship, AIM conversations (and people wondered why I was so quiet...99% of the time I was whoring it up in SWG), blibbity bloop.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Broken foot...need I say more?

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Christ...I've bought so much stuff. But I'm gonna have to go with the Star Wars Trilogy...there are those who said this day would never come.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Mine.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
IM me to find out.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Food, movies, and games.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Getting out of high school and starting college <--- What Ryan said.

16. What song will always remind you of 2004?
"This Land" by Jib Jab...well since Ryan mentioned it...I can't really think of anything else.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder? happier
b) thinner or fatter? thinner...all this walking and healthy living
c) richer or poorer? slightly poorer

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Spent more time with friends.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Breaking feet.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Just as I figured, with friends and family.

21. Did you fall in love in 2004?
I guess you could call it that. But to be honest, I wouldn't know the feeling if it come up and took out a big bite of my jugular. Are you experienced? I'm sure as hell not.

22. How many one-night stands?
None for me.

23. What was your favorite TV program?
Family Guy, I guess you could say.

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Nobody comes to mind.

25. What was the best book you read?
Well for a guy who doesn't read at all for leisure, 2001: A Space Odyssey was very intriguing and Star Wars: A Tale of the Bounty Hunter was pretty awesome for the two short stories I read.

26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Oh, I guess Rammstein. I liked System of a Down a long time ago.

27. What did you want and get?
DVDs from my wish list, decent roommates *cough*

28. What did you want and not get?
Eric rooming with me, a clean bill of health, 50 bajillion dollars :P

29. What was your favorite film of this year?
The Incredibles, Collateral, Shaun of the Dead, and AvP were all great.

30. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
Go to Golden Corral...and open gifts. I turned 19 o_O.

31.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Ryan being better off.

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
Not trying to dress to impress anyone? I wear what I want and do what I want. Whateva! Whateva! I do what I want!

33. What kept you sane?
Movies, tv, friends, games, not blackouts...

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
no idea to be quite honest...there's just too many to name.

35. What political issue stirred you the most?
gay marriage appeared to be this year's buzzword...or phrase...or whatever.

36. Who did you miss?
I'm not the kind of guy who's usually like "Oh man I miss you so very much" blah blah blah. Spending the night and camping so very much I guess has grown me use to not missing people while away.

37. Who was the best new person you met?
Gianna, no doubt. And quite a few other people on my floor.

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004
Take life one step at a time. No reason to get too far ahead of things.

39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.

Put down your chainsaw and listen to me
It's time for us to join in the fight
It's time to let your babies grow up to be cowboys
It's time to let the bedbugs bite

You better put all your eggs in one basket
You better count your chickens before they hatch
You better sell some wine before it's/its time
You better find yourself an itch to scratch

You better squeeze all the Charmin you can while Mr. Wimpole's not around
Stick your head in the microwave and get yourself a tan

Talk with your mouth full
Bite the hand that feeds you
Bite on more than you chew
What can you do
Dare to be stupid

Take some wooden nickles
Look for Mr. Goodbar
Get your mojo working now
I'll show you how
You can dare to be stupid

You can turn the other cheek
You can just give up the ship
You can eat a bunch of sushi and forget to leave a tip

Dare to be stupid
Come on and dare to be stupid
It's so easy to do
Dare to be stupid
We're all waiting for you
Let's go

It's time to make a mountain out of a molehill
So can I have a volunteer
There's no more time for crying over spilled milk
Now it's time for crying in your beer

Settle down, raise a family, join the PTA
Buy some sensible shoes and a Chevyrolet
And party 'till you're broke and they drive you away
It's OK, you can dare to be stupid

It's like spitting on a fish
It's like barking up a tree
It's like I said you gotta buy one if you wanna get one free

Dare to be stupid (yes)
Why don't you dare to be stupid
It's so easy to do
Dare to be stupid
We're all waiting for you
Dare to be stupid

Burn your candle at both ends
Look a gift horse in the mouth
Mashed potatoes can be your friends

You can be a coffee achiever
You can sit around the house and watch Leave It To Beaver
The future's up to you
So what you gonna do

Dare to be stupid
Dare to be stupid
What did I say
Dare to be stupid
Tell me, what did I say
Dare to be stupid
It's alright
Dare to be stupid
We can be stupid all night
Dare to be stupid
Come on, join the crowd
Dare to be stupid
Shout it out loud
Dare to be stupid
I can't hear you
Dare to be stupid
OK, I can hear you now
Dare to be stupid
Let's go, Dare to be stupid
Dare to be stupid
Dare to be stupid
Dare to be stupid
Dare to be stupid
Dare to be stupid
Dare to be stupid
Dare to be stupid
