After 25 years...

...my dad has finally retired from the Naval Reserves.  That's where I was today...at the retirement ceremony downtown at the reserve center.  Unbelieveable it's been that long, but now what's the guy going to do on Sundays instead of going down to the reserve center?  The ceremony was pretty cool, especially the guy who had the tiny little whistle.

Today after the ceremony when I got home, one of my dad's friend came down to my room and notified me of Star Wars Episode III's official sub-title will be Revenge of the Sith because it's about damn time.  I'm still psyched for September 21 when the original trilogy comes out on DVD, which unfortunately is when my first day at OSU is...DOH!

One step at a time

I come rollin' into the OSU campus about 2 hours after we departed from home and check in at Morrill tower.  I gets up to my room and it appeared that I was the first one there.  I got my BuckID right off the bat and the picture of me looks like I'm high.  Thankfully I brought by backpack as there were a shitload of papers handed out to me.  One of them being a bubble survey that had a billion questions on it asking different things like your religion to your political views to your "social habits" to your views on diversity.

All the fellas I met like my roommates and the ones in my group were pretty cool.  First guy I talked to was the first thing we went to and we just got to know each other before a long boring ass presentation went on.  My roommates were cool with one of them admitting to smoking weed a lot who also plans to major in theater.  We played some goofy ass games in our group like throwing a beachball around to one another that had a bunch of random questions on it and wherever your right thumb landed when catching it, that's the question you had to answer.  Mine ended up being "what's your favorite dinner plate?"...probably the most bland, retarded question out of all of them.

Later that night a few hours before going back up to my room, there were games in the lobby and I ended up playing Euchre with some really cool guys...a lot of people from the Cleveland area, that's for sure...geez.

Picked up my schedule today and it ended up looking something like this:

-CS&E 201 at 8:30 (I found it necessary to be a computer class early in the morning since, well, that's about the only thing that could keep me awake.)
-Math 150 (Pre-calculus and for once, I'm kind of glad I'm not in the "highest class possible" because that got old really fast while in high school.)
-Spanish 102.66 (Didn't get any credit for it on the placement test, so 15 credit hours of Spanish it is.)
-Some random class I need to take the first 5 weeks.

Some of the humanities and social science classes that I get to pick later on down the road that really interested me were:
Geography 200 (world regional geography)
Political Science 101 (intro to american politics)
Art 300 and 300A (photography and digital photography)
Art Education 160 (art and music since 1945)
German 299 (weimar and the third reich in german lit and film)
Japanese 231 (elements of japanese culture)
Music 141 and 142 (intro to music and american popular music)

The fact that OSU offers over 1000 courses is stunning.

After all was said and done and all papers and whatnot were finished being filled out, we left and when we got home I had noticed I accidentally left my roomkey/swipecard in my pocket.  I'll be mailing it back in the near future since there's $200 worth of keys on that thing...that's right...it costs $100 a key to replace them if lost.

To be honest, I'd say I'm ready for the whole college scene.

On the road again

So I'm going to be heading up to OSU for orientation this Thursday and will be back, I'm guessing, Saturday.  I don't really know what to expect on this trip and hopefully my 8 roommates are cool and aren't huge gaping vaginas.
 
What sucks about the whole ordeal is I can't go to sleep at 6 in the morning this week...WHY GOD DAMMIT WHY?!!?!!?!?!!!11
 
This summer I had a high expectation in the movies that came out and so far, it's been rather depressing outside of Spiderman 2.  Troy and King Arthur were all the hype and they were found to be horrible by the majority of the viewers.  Fahrenheit 9/11 was a crazy movie, but not meant for me who cares nothing about politics.  I'm still trying to figure out what Van Helsing was.  Dodgeball and Anchorman were just too hyped out for my taste to see them in a theater.  Catwoman looks just horrible other than the fact it's Halle Berry and Catwoman is probably the most uncool superhero ever.  Yeah, let's use the whole idea of a feline to mix with a woman to become even more feminine and use it as a 90-minute long story showing all her special little cat traits.  Oh boy, she has 9 lives and when she falls she lands on her feet...hardy fuckin' har.  Bet you'll never see a superhero called Masculinity Man who goes around stickin' his dick in people's ears or something.  Even though I've never read Asimov, from what Ryan's seen of it on commericals for I, Robot it's gonna be a suckfest.  Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle...nothing more needs to be said here.  Garfield...mmmkay.  White Chicks looks like the worst possible idea ever conceived that it makes me want to vomit.  I'm sorry, but "urban comedies" are fucking retarded.  And screw Harry Potter.  Shrek 2 is probably the only movie out right now that I would actually want to see.
 
Some upcoming movies that I think will help save the summer for myself will be M. Night Sybabahabalan's The Village, my most anticipated movie all year Alien vs. Predator (which is directed by Paul Anderson, the same guy who did Resident Evil and Mortal Kombat...both of which I liked very much), speaking of Resident Evil, there's going to be Resident Evil: Apocalypse coming out soon.  The Bourne Supremacy looks awesome.  I'm not sure about Blade: Trinity, but the first 2 were pretty sweet.  There was also a preview for a movie I saw at the showing of Kill Bill Vol. 2 that was written by Quentin Tarantino titled Hero starring Jet Li and it looks just so incredible.  Then some gay movie about some gay band called Metallica?  Some Kind of Monster? What's that shit all about?  Oh well, look's like a good flick I'll have to go see in select theaters.

My trip to Kings Island

Dan and I took a trip to KI...
 
To start off, I have to mention that this is the first time I've been to KI in 2 or 3 years, but not a whole bunch has changed about it other than a few ride additions and a couple rides taken down.
 
A new ride was put where the old King Cobra ride was called Delirium and was pretty frickin' sweet...other than the fact we had to wait an extra 10 minutes because it was "broken", but just think of it as a giant top spinning and going back and forth like the Viking Ship.   This one goes nearly all the way upside-down though.  That was the first one we rode.
 
We rode the Son of Beast next, which was another first for me (last time I was at KI when it just opened, the line was 3 hours too long for me...).  Talk about a shake, rattle, and roll coaster because that think was rough as hell, it would make you think you're back in old western times riding in a Conestoga wagon...  It was funny though because Dan and I made faces at the cameras that took our picture when we passed by on this ride and the Outer Limits.
 
We then headed on over to Top Gun, which has always been a favorite of mine because it's a hanging coaster and it's just so damn smooth.  Not to mention it's always cool when you get up to the top of the hill and get ready to go back down the hill, you go from having a floor beneath your car to having nothing, but 300 feet of space between you and the ground below.  Only thing that gets me is that it's too short.  I've ridden this thing a billion times.
 
We headed over to the the moving chair theater where Days of Thunder and James Bond use to be, both of which I've ridden too many times to count.  They now have a Spongebob 3-D ride there and since I've never been on it, we just had to jump in line for this ride and it would've been so retarded if the announcer guy wouldn't have had been saying his little spiel in a funny german accent and wouldn't have called the ride the "Spizzlebizzle Spizzlepizzle Thrizzle-Dizzle Rizzle".  The entire point of ride was chasing after a fugitive pickle to finish a crabby patty...
 
Some other mentionable rides were the Racer (we were backwards and we won), Shake Rattle and Roll, White Water Canyon (got pretty frickin' wet), Adventure Express, Congo Falls x3, Face-Off, and the Outer Limits.
 
While at the park, we saw Danny Mullins working the Son of Beast or one of the other roller coasters, Heater Keaton and Stephanie Berndt working the Congo Falls and chit-chatting who let Dan and I ride it three times in a row since nobody was in line, I saw Nathan Sweet and Kristi Patterson in the booth at Face-Off who saw me going up the hill backwards.  We also were passing Courtney Weyant and we yelled her name like 10 times and she completely ignored us so fuck you too. 
 
What was cool on Face-Off is when we went through it once and went back through it backwards, I started getting tunnel vision which felt so cool almost like in a state of euphoria and everything started going white.  I've felt that before when I was able to pass myself out (there's a special technique in doing that).
 
Ahh yes, another thing I don't want to forget to mention is Dan and I found some DDR machines (2 extreme mixes side-by-side and 3rd mix in another arcade) and tried doing it but were slipping all over the damn place because of our sandals that were still wet.  I, once again, defeated the Star Wars Trilogy arcade which makes that...let's see here:

The one depressing part was Tomb Raider wasn't working and hasn't been for the past day and two days...so I never got to ride that.

So I got a 2 for Calculus and 1 for English...oh shucks. They're just stupid tests and have no impact on my life for failing them.

In a galaxy far, far away...

...has been the main theme of my away message as of late. I was beginning to get into MoH again, but playing that game sure does frustrate me because of everywhere I go, there's shit talkers and I just can't stand that too much in a game. I have to draw the line somewhere.

So I decide to just go ahead and play the game that I am capable of playing online where I very, very rarely receive any insulting comments at all (it's been a looooong time since I'm not a bounty hunter anymore and not with the most hated guild in the entire game). I've mainly been grinding professions for the new Jedi Trials publish coming up, which I am unsure what will happen then. I'm anxiously waiting for the Jump to Lightspeed expansion to be released because flying around in space that time will just be frickin' awesome. Not to mention, I'll receive a deed for a Lady Luck spacecraft for being a 6-month veteran. The Lady Lucks made famous by Lando Calrissian and his peeps at Cloud City.

My journey through the Star Wars galaxy sure has been a crazy one. I've been to every far corner of the galaxy, I've been to every point of interest I can think of including Jabba's Palace, Nightsister stronghold, temple of Exar Kun, and the Massassi Temples, I've encountered every creature and NPC I can possibly imagine (other than the mighty Gorax and a rogue group of Mandolorians known as the Death Watch, which I really want to see in person and just not screenshots of). I've fought for the Rebel cause for the first 6 or 7 months and then defected to help the Imperial faction since then and now that I'm back with my old guild mates, I'm considering going back to the Rebel Alliance so I'm not the ONLY Imperial in the guild, which is a pain. I've tried nearly every profession, even though I haven't mastered many of them except for nearly all the combat professions, but the medic, entertainer, and crafting professions are still out there to be done. I have over 6 million credits to my name currently and with all the rare loot I have in my 5 houses on Naboo, I'd say I could get nearly 20 million for everything.

I've been through it all. I've been through every little change, patch, publish, and hotfix. I've had my high days and I've had my low days. I've been a good guy and I've been a bad guy. I've won some and I've lost some.

One thing I don't want to happen is become obsessed with this game to the point where I own and operate 5 accounts like I know some people do in this game...that's just excessive. So to prevent this, if anyone wants to spend the night at my house or me spend the night at their house or to do anything else, IM me or CALL me (yes that's right, I have a telephone in my room).

Tejada for the win

The Home Run Derby was probably by far, the best one I've seen, but that isn't saying much since all the years the past I missed every damn one because I was always at summer camp at the time. Last year was the first time I got to see it on T.V. for the first time live.

Miguel Tejada was the winner for this year who also broke the round record with 15 in the 2nd round...wowzers! Berkman did a damn good job. Screw Barry Bonds. Nowhere better to hold the derby than at Minute Maid park, one of the best homerun parks ever. The 500 HR club was really cool with all the ones living out of the 20 standing there...including Griffey Jr. :) To think that only 20 players have hit 500 homeruns out of nearly 16,000+ MLB players...incredible.

Can't wait for the actual All-Star game...looks to be like one hell of a game.

Dissaatisfaction: I don't like what the fuck is going on here.

I just can't stand it anymore. For the last month, everytime I go to lay down in either my bed or just a bed, I'm breaking out with these welts that itch like fucking hell. This causes me to get pretty much no sleep whatsoever. I've shown Eric and Ryan what these welts look like and they can get as long as either my back or my entire arm. This is the first time I've ever experienced a, what I think is an allergic reaction of this magnitude. In fact, it itches worse than chicken pox ever did.

This reaction is either A) the cat B) some kind of Arm & Hammer carpet freshener C) the sheets on my bed or D) the clothes on my back. My reason behind those are as follows:

A) The cat because I know from doctors that I'm allergic to felines, but in the past I have only gotten a runny nose and that's it.

B) The carpet freshener because this was the first time I know of that it was ever sprinkled on both my carpet and the rest of the basement's carpet. Then it was either so fine a powder, it was airborne OR it there's some mild residue on the carpet even from vacuumming that my cat gets it on my bed.

C) My bed sheets because, even though I've slept on the same sheets or the past 3 or so years, my dad just informed it is possible to build up an allergy. He said he wore contacts for 2 years and after those 2 years, he was suddenly allergic to them.

D) The clothes on my back probably aren't it, but I can't think of anything else that touches my back.

It pisses me off because it seems that no matter where I lay, I start itching like hell. When I can't lie down, I can't go to sleep and when I can't go to sleep, well, I become sleepy over time. Guess that explains why I'm posting this at 7 in the morning. I just lied in bed for about 2 hours, once again with the inability to fall asleep.
