Urge...to kill...rising

I swear, from working at Hollywood video for 6 months now I don't think I've ever realized how insanely stupid and ignorant the rest of the world is. I have come so close so many times to snapping and showing how brutally honest I can be.

The number one thing that gets me all the time are people returning movies late...especially the tards who keep the movie for more than a month and has to pay twice as much as if they had bought it. To be honest, I could give a flying fuck how late somebody returns a movie, if it's late then it's late and they should pay the fee...whether it be 4 bucks if it's one day late or whether it's 40 bucks for being 50 days late. See, when people sign up at our store (keyword being "sign") they sign a "contract" for the membership at OUR store willing to abide by OUR rules and then when somebody returns a movie late, they think it's OUR fault because of their lack of effort to get off their ass and return the movie on time. People think that just because they they have to pay 40 bucks for one movie that we should "not have to make them pay it". It's called capitalism...making money is the name of the game. It's the same principle as going into a gas station and saying, "Well, I payed 20 bucks for gas...so does that mean I can take a free case of beer home?" Without movies being returned, we make no revenue...so we make that revenue off lamers who keep their movies for longer than their suppose to. I'm pretty sure that's why we say "Your movie is due back _______" every fucking time we give them OUR movies.

I've seen some of the most pathetic people. One lady was so confident of herself because "she was a lawyer and she doesn't make those kinda mistakes"....over a fucking 4 dollar late fee. I think she even threatened to turn it into a legal battle. I do admit that occassionally some of our n00b workers can't even scan in half the movies...back about a month ago when we had a bunch of n00bs, it seemed like every other movie I was checking out to somebody hadn't been checked in from the previous renter. What pisses me off even more is when it shows a movie being anywhere between a day and a month late and hasn't been returned yet and low and behold, I walk out to the shelf and find it, scan it in, and everything is holly jolly.

Another thing are people who don't rewind need to die. Stupid asses.

And for all the blind motherfucks out there, when you walk in to return your movie(s), if you are able to turn your head approximately 15 degrees to the left and about 10 degrees down you will see a little hole labeled as "MOVIE RETURNS". Hell, maybe even your perpheral vision might pick it up. We put it there for a reason, just not eye candy.......... Stop asking me "Where do I put these?" when there's a "MOVIE RETURN" box about three feet away...

Today was a bit scary because some old fart brought back his movies all a day late and I told him it's still 4 bucks for one day. So instead of paying the late fees, in other words stealing (yeah, that's right...see you in hell you fuck) he felt it necessary to whip out a buck knife and started cutting up his video card to our store. I just kinda glanced at the blade and then went back to ordering movie returns while people were just walking around him staring at him thinking "WTF is this tard doing?". Bet he felt like a jackass. He acted like I cared and that maybe I would grovel at his feet begging for him to come back and rent more movies... I just ignored him after that.

Line skippers need to die. Yeah, hi...I can only do 26 and a half things at once here...gimme a break. After all, being that we do EVERYTHING in the store...nobody specializes in one thing so just the four of us have to return movies, answer the phone, check out customers, etc etc.

I've had some sarcasm come out from time to time that has made people a little edgy, but I don't want to get fired...I'd rather quit because getting fired wouldn't look good on a resume. I try to bite my tongue to the best of my ability, but sometimes just want to tell people how much of a dumbass they are to their face. I would go on for days, maybe even write a quick novel, if I cared more.

The only thing that ever truly comes from the workplace that I like is the money and the free movies...even though we get paid jack shit to do what we do. We probably pull in the most revenue and handle the most customers within, like, a 25 mile radius of our store and get paid so much less. O well, like I told myself..."No food joints".
