A traffic jam when you're already late
So there I was at the mall today, randomly thinking about things and one being about my blog and how I never have anything to blog about. The more I thought about it, I had something to blog about... about not having anything to blog about, if that makes any sense. Figured I would post something relevant at least once this summer, it's going to be more of a recap of the summer... a nice, long, relaxing summer that I enjoyed for the most part.
My job. Definitely one of the better things that happened to me this summer. Although the days can be long (7:30 am to around 2:30 pm w/ lunch from 11:00 am to noon) and it being a Monday through Friday job (making it nearly thirty hours a week), the people I work with make the days go by much quicker. Laughing, joking, quoting all day long with some work here and there, but who said we can't multitask? Been doing that since July and the pay has been super. The best part was when I first showed up, I was teamed up Nathan Hucker and all I was like "Sweet shit!" Then a few others like Nick Long (not the idiot from AHS, somebody else), Emily Brooks, Charley Ilg, Chris & Kyle Martin, and few others who could just go away. Man being a techie, especially in a school district, sure can show you how stupid people can be.
Battlefield 2. Such a wondrous game, that at first I thought was going to be the Desert Combat mod with polished graphics. It certainly isn't. Probably the biggest and greatest feature is definitely the stats part of the game. It tracks everything (assuming you play in ranked servers all the time, like I do) and you gain ranks, medals, ribbons, and badges. Some medals require 4000 hours of gameplay. Yeah, fucking insane. I don't want to talk too much about the game because I'd rather just end up writing a review for it. Eric and I played it for most of the summer and recently Dan just bought it. I can see myself playing this game for quite a while. As for Halo 2, haven't played on Live for a good six months or so. Probably just the community of hackers, modders, stand-byers, and exploiters that turned me off to the game. Also, this summer, no blasted MMORPG to suck up every spare hour of my life only to have it all wasted in a month. Anyways, yeah. BF2 = Fantastic online FPS.
Other shit:
- After looking at it, I really, really want to buy the MX5000 package by Logitech.
- The summer was splendid with Ryan being able to hang out with us on his days off before he went back to the grindhouse.
- Saw some great movies this summer (Star Wars: ROTS, Batman Begins, The Aristocrats, The Dukes of Hazzard, The Devil's Rejects) and a few stinkers (Fantastic Four, Transporter 2, Great Raid).
- Housing assignment showing that Eric and I will be living in the same room this year finally. No fuck ups here. Sure am glad about that.
- Went to my first OSU football game this past Saturday where we crushed Miami. Take that Wilson the Hutt. Also, ran into Jon, my former roommate, while at the game and he was still cool.
- This summer, I've been watching (or trying to watch) a bunch of movies I've never gotten a chance to see (not on TV, don't like to watch something my first time on TV). Mostly movies that make people "omg you haven't seen that movie wtf!1?!??!!11" even though that sure does annoy the hell out of me. I usually only do that myself for anyone who hasn't seen any Star Wars movie. I got most of these movies by either borrowing them or downloading them so I was really desperate to watch these w/o spending buttloads of money. You can find all the movies I've watched throughout the summer in my AIM profile. It's quite the list.
- One last thing that came to mind about this summer that sticks out is that for once (or at least for the first time in a long time) I didn't have to do JACK SHIT for school in terms of schoolwork, mandatory reading, etc.
Yep, didn't have anything to post about. THANK YOU DARK CONTINENT... GOOD NIGHT!!!
